چکیده

OFDM offers many advantages in terms of resilience to fading, reflections and the like. OFDM also offers a high level of spectrum efficiency. However to reap the rewards, it is necessary that the OFDM system operates correctly, and to achieve this, it is necessary for the OFDM synchronization to be effective. There are a number of areas in which the OFDM synchronization is critical to the operation of the system, but this paper only deals with OFDM synchronization in terms of clock accuracy and proposes an oversampling based technique to ensure that the samples are synchronized and data errors are minimized.

Reducing Timing Jitter in OFDM Systems Using Oversampling

Timing jitter is a major issue in very high speed OFDM systems, which causes serious impairments that, degrades the performance of overall system. In order to reduce the effect caused by timing jitter, here in this proposal, we introduced a novel scheme that reduces the noise caused by the effect of timing jitter by using integral oversampling under different channel environments such as AWGN, ...

Open Architecture ATE and 250 Consecutive UIs

Problem Statement. A very different way is needed to perform jitter testing of multi-Gbps physical layer ICs on a highvolume production line [1]. To perform high-volume production testing, several issues must be addressed. First, what measurements are required to characterize jitter in multi-Gbps physical layer ICs? Should the BER performance of the IC be tested or not? Secondly, as shown in Fi...

Analytical Performance Evaluation of Space Time Coded MIMO OFDM Systems Impaired by Fading and Timing Jitter

An analytical approach is presented to determine the impact of time selective fading, timing jitter and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) on the bit error rate (BER) performance of an orthogonal frequencydivision multiplexing (OFDM) system with differential quaternary phase-shift keying (DQPSK), differential phaseshift keying (DPSK) and quaternary phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation. The ex...

A general analysis on the timing jitter in D/A converters

A general analysis on stochastic timing errors (clock or timing jitter) is presented for Digital to Analog Converters (DAC). The obtained results describe the effects of (non)correlated errors for given signal properties, and reveal the nature of the tradeoff between oversampling ratio, resolution and noise shaping in the context of noise-shaped DACs and Continuous-Time (CT) Sigma Delta (EA) AD...

Modified Godard Timing Recovery for Non-Integer Oversampling Receivers

A timing recovery algorithm is introduced that operates with less than two samples per symbol and provides an enormous complexity reduction. The complexity reduction is due to a synergy with the already existing Fourier transforms in a coherent receiver, an avoidance of terms that are dominated by noise, and a complete elimination of multiplications. A simulation and an experiment with a single...
